Easter or Sympathy card----not sure

Here is another card that I made the other day. I haven't decided whether this will be an Easter card or a sympathy card. I really believe it could work for either or. I may just leave the inside blank until it is Easter or I need a sympathy card....which ever comes first.....lets hope it will turn out to be an Easter card. I like to keep one or two sympathy cards on hand because when I do need them they are so hard to make. I have to admit, it is nice to be back making cards. Thank you all for your comments. Valentines cards

Surprise everyone, I am back....I am so glad to be back making cards. I have made several cards over the last few months but I just haven't posted any of them. Wow, what a huge turn my life has given me...It is very true that God never gives you anything that you can't handle. And if the ol saying about what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger is true, then I am telling you that I am the strongest person alive. lol..... Anyway, hopefully I will be back posting on a regular basis now. These are a few of the cards that I worked on last week. I needed to make several Valentine's cards so these are what I cam up with. Some are not complete yet. I just have to decide whether I am going to put Love or Happy Valentine's Day across the front of them. I also wanted to take this time to thank all of my friends that have sent me emails wanting to know where I was. I don't know how I would have made it through this last year without you.

wedding cards

A really sweet girl that I work with is getting married for the first time in a few weeks and we are having her a wedding shower at work. I couldn't really decide what kind of card to make her so I made both of these. The one with the ring and heart on it is a total scraplift of Donna Mundingers wedding card that she sent me and Todd when we got married last September. Only hers is much prettier. I tried to use her wedding colors in this one. I wasn't real pleased with how it turned out so I made what I call a traditional wedding card in cream and black. Now that I have them both made and I have them side by side I am having a hard time deciding which one to give to her. I think I may just end up giving her both of them. Anyway, I would love to hear which one you like best and if you think I should give her both cards.....

I am a Cricut Demonstrator- YEAH

OK, I wanted to share some really great news with all of you. I would have shared it last week but I was so afraid that I would end up jinxing something and it would not happen. I have been asked to be the Cricut Demonstrator for the Michael's store in my area. I was so excited when I got the email. One I love Michael's but most of all I absolutely love love love my cricut. Anyway, this past Sunday (yesterday) was my first day. I was demonstrating the E and I have to admit, although the E is what I have I was a little nervous about being in front of a lot of people talking about it. I didn't fall asleep until 4am Sunday morning worrying about whether I had everything that I needed and what exactly I was going to do and then I was up at 8:30am. After I got to Michael's and got everything set up and people started coming by and asking me questions, I started to realize, oh wait a minute I know all of these answers, anyway, it didn't take long before I was getting into it.I had taken some of my cards to set up as samples and I got so many positive compliments on my cards, it really made my heart smile. They are sending me a Cricut Cake machine this week that I get to demonstrate on Sunday. I am so excited about that. I have had my eye on that cake machine since day 1 I just haven't convinced myself to go and buy one. Now I will have one in my house to play with. I am really excited. The Sunday after that I am demonstrating the Yudu and I have to admit I am a little anxious about that. I have never played with one so if any of you out there have one or can give me some pointers on it that would be great. Anyway, I wanted to share my excitement with you. Poor Jeannie, I have talked her ears off over the excitement of doing this. I absolutely love the cricut and now I get an opportunity to show others. Plus the fact that I get paid to hang out at Michaels and play with my cricut, how exciting is that.....Anyway, I wanted to share my excitement with you, my friends.....

birthday card- the story behind the card is so funny

Tomorrow is Todd's birthday so I wanted to make him a birthday card. OK, so you may be asking yourself why I would have chosen a raccoon to put on his card. Well, that leads to a very funny story. Apparently he grew up in a town where there was not much wildlife. We live in town but it is so amazing how we can sit on our back porch and almost every evening see 7-9 deer walk right up in our backyard. I sure you remember the horror stories that I told you about the deer eating our flowers. Anyway, the deer and the flowers are another post and another story, this story is about the raccoon. Well, like I said, we live right smack in the middle of town so you don't really expect much wildlife in town. Well, apparently any other town but our town. Well, for about the last three weeks we kept having something getting in our trash. It would actually lift the lid off of our trashcan and set it to the side. I kept thinking we had a raccoon but then I also kept thinking, nah, not in town. Well, the other night while I was talking to my sister on the phone, while sitting on the back porch joking about the fact that there were 7 deer in the back yard paying no attention to me on the phone when I saw what appeared to be a very large cat. Well, I start walking closer as this thing climbs the tree, at closer look I realize that it is a raccoon so I just kinda back away because I was a little leary of it, not scared, just leary...... I came in the house and told Todd about what I had seen outside. Well a few hours passed and we were sitting in the family room watching tv when I heard the lid knock off of the trash can. I told Todd, there is the raccoon, I jump up to go outside to scare him off. Well, I look behind of me and there is Todd with the flashlight in hand. He shined it on the trashcan and there was the raccoon just staring at us. He dropped the flashlight and was in the house faster than I have ever seen him move. I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. I kept telling him that we needed to scare the raccoon away because he would rip that trash bag to shreads. No sirry Bob, he wasn't going nowhere near anything that was outside. "You know those things carry rabies don't ya". Anyway, After I threw a water bottle at the raccoon and scared him off , I put the lid back on the trashcan. Still, Todd was going no where near the trashcan until he got in the vehicle and drove it as close to the trashcans as he could get it to make sure the raccoon was in fact gone....After closer inspection of the trashcans (from the vehicle) he did go and get a heavy brick to put on top of the trash can so Mr Raccoon couldn't get back in the trashcan that night. And yes, he would just "love" it if he knew I was telling this story, but I am sure you will all keep my secret. lol..... Anyway, after all of that excitement I knew that he had to get a very "special" birthday card. I knew it had to have a raccoon somewhere on it. I was actually thinking about going to the store and buying a stuffed raccoon and putting it down inside the trashcan and asking him to take the trash out for me but I really was afraid that might make me a widow....lol...I will save that trick until he really makes me mad over something...lol...too funny...wish all of you could have seen just how fast he can run.....anyway, hope you enjoyed the story and I hope it gave you a chuckle...I will be laughing my tail off til the end of time over this one.....Thanks for your comments, they really make my day!

My new Craft Area

OK, so I know it is small but that is alright....I am so excited to share pictures with all of you, my friends. I love my new craft "studio". It has everything right where I want it. I just don't know why I didn't think to do this sooner. I work for a company that manufactures slatwall. I got two pieces and some shelves from work and came home and went to work. I was so excited with how it started to come together. It is funny....I have joked and joked for months now that I have more paper than Michaels. After sorting through all my paper I realized that I truly do have more paper than Michaels. I have realized that I have a huge paper addiction. "hello, my name is Vicki and I am addicted to paper". The plastic containers underneath my tables, wow, what a bargin they were. I was in Wal-mart and went down their clearance isle and found these on clearance for $7. I got both of them, too bad they didn't have more. I guess they were on clearance because they were green. The black cabinets that you see that I have all my brads and buttons and other embellishments, these are in the hardware dept at Wal-mart. They are supposed to be used for screws and bolts and things but they work perfect for your embellishments. The one thing I will have to do tomorrow at work is see if I can get another piece of MDF board to put over top of my little table. This was a steal that I found at CVS, the table top is a little thin and I guess during moving everything around I put too much weight on it because it is now warped, so I am going to get a piece of MDF board tomorrow and put on top of the table. I am actually going to get a piece that is a little bigger than the table is so I can have more room....There is still so much more that I want to do. I have two more walls in my little room and I can see shelves going up on them already. Anyway, thanks for taking a peak at my little room away from everything. Friends thru thick and thin

This was going to be my original Jeannie/Vicki raindrop challenge card. I actually had this one made and everything until I was laying in bed the night before we were going to post and the Gene Kelly, singing in the rain card hit me like a ton of bricks. I new then that I had to make that card. Of course, I really wish these ideas would come to me some other time except 11pm at night....Especially when I get up at 5:30am every morning...anyway, the sacrafices we make for our cards...lol...I hope you enjoy this card. I really did have a lot of fun making it. I was going for a friends thru thick and thin together theme. I know that most times you and your best friend are as different as cat and mice but the combination really works. I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much for your comments. Singin in the Rain- Jeannie/Vicki Challenge

Oh I really had so much fun with this challenge. Jeannie and I both have been talking a lot about the rain. I swear it has rained here everyday the last two weeks. I know that the rain is good but I would love to see some sunshine for a few straight days. Anyway, our challenge was to use the rain drops (or tear drops) from the A childs year cart. I had one card but changed my mind at the last minute. I will post that card later. Anyway, I was lying in bed that night and this card hit me. I knew it would be the perfect card for this challenge. I am a huge huge huge old movie buff. Well, singing in the rain is one of my favorite movies. So I have decided to name this monkey Gene after Gene Kelly in that movie. When I was looking through the create a critter cart and I saw this monkey it just looked like he could be jumping through a puddle....so with the monkey looking like this, all the rain, the fact that I am a huge old movie fan and the fact that we were using the rain drop this card just evolved. I hope that you all enjoy it because I sure did enjoy making it.

Baseball thank you card

I wanted to make a card for my son's baseball coach who happens to be my ex. It is amazing how far he has taken these kids in baseball. The have only lost one game all season and they are all, the entire team, playing so great. They are all 12 and it is amazing to watch 12 year old play the game of baseball and understand the fundamentals of the sport as well as they do. It is just like watching minature versions of the pro's.....only better.....because when they are this size you can tell that they are playing with all heart and are playing because they truly love the sport and want to be the best they can. I truly believe that sports are so great for kids. It teaches them to be team players and teaches them so much about life in general. Anyway, I wanted to make a special card and this is what I came up with. There team is name is Crush so I wanted to put that on the card somewhere and there colors are orange and black so I wanted to use those colors too. I used the baseball cart and welded the letters from basecamp for the word Crush. I figure either Brandon can give it to him himself or he can have all the boys sign it and they all give it to him. Either way I hope he likes it and knows how much I appreciate what all he is doing with those boys.

Brandon's Birthday card

OK, I have to admit when I saw Jeannie's retirement card with the fish on it my brain starting running all over the place. I needed to make a card for my son's birthday and was going to make him a baseball card. He loves baseball. Well actually he loves all sports and when he is not playing a sport he loves to be hunting. I remember when he was just 6 or 7 years old, My ex (who loves to hunt) had went out that morning and killed a deer. Well for weeks prior to this all Brandon could talk about was wanting to go deer hunting too. Well when my ex shot that deer that morning he didn't say anything to Brandon about killing the deer. He just told him that he needed his help. Well, Brandon grabbed his gun and was ready to go. Now this is the funny part, Brandon's gun was a bb gun. But to him it was a real gun. My ex had told him that he had just knocked the deer down and he needed Brandon's help. Well, let me tell you, That was all that child talked about for weeks and weeks. He had to have his picture taken with this deer and everything. He truly believed that he was the one that had shot him. Well, when I saw Jeannie's retirement card with the fish on it I knew what card I wanted to make for Brandon. I wanted to make him a deer hunting card. Jeannie thank you so much for the idea. I think Brandon will love it and I hope you do too.

Jeannie/Vicki Turtle card challenge

I know that everyone probably thinks that I have dropped off the face of the planet. I am so sorry about that. I have been so busy with work and just my life in general. Well even though I haven't been posting very much Jeannie and I have still been talking pretty much everyday. She actually is my inspiration behind of this card. We kept talking about doing more card challenges together and that I needed to post more cards so I asked her to pick a cart and pick a cut and we would do a card. She picked a great one. I really love this turtle from Create a critter. I new I wanted it to be a friend card because one of our very first challenges we did was a card with a turtle on it. Anyway, I kept thinking about what I was going to do and I kept thinking that true friends would go to any means to see or help one another. that is how the turtle finding a way to get to his friend across the water came to me. Sure the turtle could have walked around the water but that would have taken too long. True friends go to whatever means possible to help their friend the fastest way possible. That is how I came up with the parachute across the water. Jeannie, you truly are a great friend and I would parachute across a lake to help you anytime...Thank you so much for getting me back on the boards. I have missed everyone so much. Hopefully my life will slow down a little so I have more time to post.

gyspy challenge- gold and black

This week Nilda asked us to do a gold and black challenge. WEll, when she said black and gold I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I seem to have a one track mind when it comes to black and gold. I am a huge huge huge Pittsburg Steelers fan. This is what I came up with. Of course I would have loved to have seen the Steelers back in the Superbowl but I wanted them to know that I am still very proud to be a Steelers fan even though they didn't make it all the way this year. Party Favors Gypsy DT project

This week at http://the-gypsyspot.blogspot.com/ Nilda asked us to make party favors. I kept trying to think what kind of party favor I would make since New Years was over. Then it hit me, Valentine's Day is right around the corner. So I made these for my kids. In the bags I put Dove chocolate and in the sour cream containers I put M & M's. I love making the sour cream containers, they are so easy to make. I cut the rectangle out with my gypsy and added the heart from George to the center of the containers. For the boxes I used TBBM and used BB for the word love that is cut out in the center of the boxes. I then took the cutout of the word and put on the sour cream containers and the heart cutout from the container I put on the boxes. Wow, that sure is clear as mud isn't it...lol...if you look at the picture you will understand what I was trying to say. I hope you like them. They were a lot of fun to make. Thank you all again for being so patient while I was away. It is so nice to be back.

2010 Gypsy DT project card

I have been so far behind this last month getting anything posted to my blog or even the message board. I am so sorry for that. Hopefully I am just about ready to get "back to normal" if there is such a thing. This week over at the Gypsy DT, Nilda asked us to make a circle card welding 2010 somewhere on the card. Well since it was after New Years before I started on mine I was almost at a loss on what to do until one of my very dear friends told me it was his birthday on that Monday. I knew exactly what I was going to do then. I turned what could have been a New Years card into a birthday card. gypsy spot DT shaped card

This week over at the gypsy spot Nilda asked us to make a shaped card. This is my first try at a shaped card with the gyspy but I was pleased with the results. I really had no idea where I was going to start with it. Then it came to me, people fall in love at all times of the year and I was thinking ok, this is fall.....fall 4 you....that will be my card. so I made the card the shape of a pumpkin then added the number 4 and the letter u. I absolutely love this fall paper pack from DCWV. I have almost used my whole pack. I inked the edges of everything and this is the final result. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it. I am sure I will be making a lot more shaped cards as fun as this one was to make. Gypsy Spot design team challenge

This week over at http://the-gypsyspot.blogspot.com/, Nilda asked us to make something using the weld feature. She wanted us to weld a shape and also weld letters together. I decided to make a snowman completely from George, although I did have to use Mickey and Friends for his hands. I am really proud of how he turned out. I used all ovals and circles for George and then the vest and hat I put on him I got from PDDU. I cut a scrap piece of paper for his nose and then drew his face on and added chalk to his cheeks, the paper is some of my new paper that I just got from stampin up. I really do like the whole pack of this paper. Be sure to go over to the gypsy spot and see all the other creations that all the other talented ladies created using the weld feature and be sure to play along. The Lord is my Shepherd

Monday will be my Dad's birthday. I lost him 6 years ago to brain cancer and I have to tell you, it never gets better. It does get easier but it never gets better. I miss him more than words can ever say. I know that he is with me everyday watching over me. I made this card in memory of my dad. He walked so close with God while he was here on this Earth living everyday by his word. I got the idea from a picture that has been in my house for years. My mom had it in our house growing up and I have it in my house now and I am sure that so many of you have it in your house too. It is the Home Interior picture of the old church with the sheep in the field and it has on the front of it "The Lord is my Shepherd". This picture is hanging in my guest bathroom because a very dear friend of mine told me once that you should always have a scripture of some kind hanging in your bathroom because whenever you have company over they are sure to use your bathroom so you want them to be able to see it. I have to tell you, I have a scripture picture/plaque of some kind in every room of my house because I want to make sure that no matter what room people are in at my house they will know that I live by God's word. On the outside it says "The Lord is my Shepherd" and on the inside I put the entire verse on the left hand side and left the right hand side blank. thank you so much for looking and thank you so much for commenting. poinsettia card

I love Christmas time. It is my absolute favorite time of the whole year. I usually end up with several poinsettias around the house because I think they are just so pretty. I wanted to see if I could create my own layered poinsettia with my Gypsy. I was so happy to see that it was coming together the way I wanted it to. I used plantin schoolbook's leaves for the poinsettia and welded them together to a circe from George. Put a ribbon behind of it and added the fuzzy pom poms to the center. I hope you like how it turned out. I am just loving my gypsy. I love the idea that you can create so many new cuts. Thank you so much for looking and thank you for commenting.

Autumn- the Gypsy DT first challenge

For our first challenge for the Gypsy DT, Nilda asked us to make a card using the Gypsy Wonderings cart. I used several different cuts from this cart on my card. First I used the leaves and made a border out of them by welding them all together. Then I cut more leaves out in different prints and added them to the welded border and also to the bottom of the card. I also put some in the inside of the card as well. I also used the GW cart for the pumpkins, I cut three of them out both on regular and shadow and mixed the layers together to give them more color. The word Autumn is also fromt he GW cart and I cut it out on regular and shadow cut. I even got the diamonds that are behind of Autumn from the GW cart and then added the strip of ribbon and lots and lots of ink. I am really pleased with how it turned out, I hope you like it too. Nilda wanted us to showcase how we created our cards and I couldn't think of a better way than to show you the same way that Jeannie does her cards by giving you a snapshot of the gypsy board. I hope you can tell how I layed everything out of the mat. One of the greatest things about the gypsy is that you can cut the entire card out at one time. All you do is measure your paper and put it on the mat the same way you have it layed out on your gyspy mat. It is so great to be able to cut every single color all a the same time. peace symbol card

One of the girls that I work with asked me to make a card for her daughter who is getting ready to turn 12. She loves pinks and purples and is really in to the peace sign. She asked me if I could make a card with the peace sign on it so of course I say yes, because even if I can't find one on one of my carts then I can create one in gypsy....yeah! That is exactly what I had to do. I couldn't find a peace symbol on any of the carts so I started working with my new favorite little toy and this is what a came up with. OMG, I love my Gyspsy! The circle is actually a Christmas ornament and I used two rectangles from George to weld to the Christmas ornament to make the symbol. After I cut the ornament out I just snipped the hook off. She is really into music too, of course what young girl isn't, so I added some music notes from the JOTS cart. The flowers are from George. There's no place like home, there's no place like home

Last week at WSB we were asked to make a card or layout using this picture. At first I made a birthday card and just wasn't happy with the end result because this picture really was screaming Wizard of Oz at me. I just really thought that the lady in the picture looked like Glenda from the Wizard of Oz, so I made another card using the Wizard of Oz as my theme. I decided to keep the balloons and weld them to the house, using my gypsy....love my gypsy and make a house warming card with "there's no place like home" as the theme of the card. This is what I came up with. I hope you like it. I inked around the edge of everything and used lots of pop dots. thanks for looking and thanks for leaving a comment. They really keep me going

This is what I came up with. The pumpkins are circles and ovals from George, the starts are also from George and the bats are from PDDU. The stamped image is from Stamp up! This card will actually be given to Merrill for letting me borrow her stampin up stamps. I hope she likes it. The ribbon in the upper left hand corner and the pumpkin paper on the inside came from my dear dear friend Joy Sikes who sent me a bunch of goodies. Thank you Joy!

romantic card in black and creme

I think this could possibly be one of my favorite romantic cards that I have made. I am really proud of how this one turned out. First of all I absolutely love this paper, OMG, it is so pretty....and it is all Donna's M's fault that I bought it too. This is from the DCWV creme stack. this particular piece that I used on this card is flocked. I really do wish you could see it in person, it is the greatest paper. I actually bought the stack to do pages in my wedding scrapbook but I had to do a card with it first. Now I may have to buy another pack for my scrapbook and use all of this pack for cards. I wish also that you could see the center heart. It just sparkles The heart is from the wedding cart cut on 4", both on shift and regular cut. I really like the look of the center of the heart, it was super easy but the final look is really great. I went around the entire piece of white paper with stickles then I took white glitter and sprinkled it all over the heart. The stickles dry raised so the heart looks like it has a raised glitter center. It really is pretty in person. Then I used the jasmine corners and added black stickles to those, the love is from Beyond Birthdays and the butterflies were MS, and they are layered and then I added white stickles. Even Todd said this is one of my prettiest, which is a lot coming from him. Usually I get that is real pretty sweetheart. This one he actually did a good bit of commenting on. Made me feel good. floating ghost halloween card

OH OH OH, I am so excited for you to see this card! Oh I am just so proud of this card. I have had this card pictured in my head for days now, I just wasn't sure that I could make it all come together the way I wanted it to. I am so proud that it turned out right. I am also glad that it worked out that this could be and Jeannie/Vicki challenge card. Jeannie and I decided that it had been too long since we did a challenge card together so here is what we came up with. I picked the ghost from PDDU but didn't realize that there were two ghost on that cart so I made sure that I used them both on this card. I knew that I wanted my ghost to be suspended in mid air like it was flying but I wasn't sure how to pull this off. Well I actually worked with my wedding card idea and came up with the idea to hang the ghost from invisible thread and hang him from the center of cut out on the card. I hope the pictures really show how he is just floating in the air. I added layers of the zooballo grass behind of the ghost. I hope you can see that there are several layers of the grass. I inked around the edges to make it look better and of course I used lots and lots of pop up glue dots. I also added a spider to the grass area because what kind of card would a halloween card be without a spider. I also added two of the pumkins from PDDU and layered them and popped them up too and then I cut out ivy and inked and glued it around the pumkins. Added a moon and the word BOO to the left side and bats and stars to the right side. This obviously is a card that does better being left open. Go figure, a card that looks better on the inside than on the outside. On the outside of the card I added the cat, tombstone and other ghost from PDDU. I also put a lot of the inked ivy around the cat on this part as well. This card was way too much fun to make. I love it when I make a card that I am really excited about seeing it when it is done. Susan's birthday card

OK, you guys know that my daughter is the worlds largest Alice in Wonderland fan. I made her the one Alice card a few weeks ago as a thank you for giving me away at the wedding and so I thought I would use the rest of the Alice stuff that I have and make her a birthday card. She will be 20 on the 18th. Wow, it is so hard to believe that she is still not the same little girl that we used to have Alice in Wonderland "unbirthday" tea parties when she was little. Anyway, there is not much cricut on this card, just the greass at the bottom of the card from zooballoo. I hope you enjoy. I am not sure if you can read the verse of the inside of the card or not because of the glare of the paper but it is an Alice quote from the movie and it goes

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.

You mess with the bull...

OK, I admit it....I am a child of the 80's and one of my all time favorite movies is the breakfast club. There are so many great lines from this movie but this one is one of my favorites and it just happened to work perfect with this card. Anna, a lady I work with, has a son that rides bulls for a living. Well, he fell off a bull a few weeks ago and got pretty bruised up. I wanted to make him a funny get well card so this is what I came up with. If you are a fan of The Breakfast Club you will remember this line. Bender who is played by Judd Nelson keeps calling the "self absorbed" principal whose first name is Richard by his nickname ( which is the nickname for Richard) well the principal keeps taking it and taking and finally looks at Bender and says "You mess with the bull youngman and you're gonna get the horns....and lengthens his detention. If you have never seen this movie then I highly recommend watching it for a good laugh. Anyway, I hope he likes the card and I hope it puts a smile on his face.

sympathy card for best friend

This is a sympathy card that I never wanted to make. I tried to make it the biggest card I could make because I want her to know how very very sorry I am. My best friends husband decided at the last minute that he was going to go ride his harley instead of coming to the wedding because it was such a beautiful day. When she told me that he wasn't coming I was ok with it because weddings aren't mens favorite thing to do. Oh man, how I wish he would have come to the wedding. He was leaving his dads house because he wanted to get home about the time that Sandy came home from the wedding. He was hit by a very young driver and both he and the driver were flown by helicopter to different hospitals. Sandy had the very difficult decision to make of taking David off of life support on Sunday. When she called and left a message on my voicemail I was just shocked. Words just can't describe the feelings that I had going through me. Here I was so elated from my wedding and she was going through such pain. I honestly don't know what to say to her. She told me to never let a second go by without letting Todd know exactly how much I love him because you never know when it will all end. Then she said "You are beginning your life with your husband and my life with mine is ending." What can I say to that. I love her so much, she has been there for me through everything in my life. My divorce, my father passing away, my new marriage....I have to tell you that I cried the whole time I was making this card. This is truly to hardest card that I have ever had to make. I don't want to make anymore cards for this reason at all...... I can't take all the credit for this card either. I just couldn't get my mind on a sympathy card so I looked at some of my favorite card makers out there and fell in love with Lillies sympathy card using the Lords prayer so that is what I went with. thank you Lillie for the inspiration. You have no idea how bad I needed it for this card. Please say an extra prayer for Sandy to help her get through this horrible time. She is going through so much right now. Her oldest son is in Iraq and won't be able to make it home for the funeral so please say a prayer for him as well. I have to tell you, my heart is breaking making this card.....

I am really proud of this oh so easy project. The lady that is marrying Todd and I on Saturday is fighting her 3rd battle with cancer. The first two times it was breast cancer now this time it is bone cancer from the breast cancer. I wanted to make her something very special and thanks to Marie (aka ~~me~~) I was able to do that. The other day while looking around on the mb I saw her post of where she makes these stationary boxes. I thought they were just great so she kindly shared her recipe for them. I am in love with these, I plan on making many many more. The cards I monogramed with her initials using the storybook cartridge, the note paper is nothing but 3 1/2" scalloped squares cut from mini monograms. The tags were cut from George at 3" and then I ran ribbons through the top. The address book is nothing but notebook paper and then printed paper hooked together with brads. I am going tomorrow to get her a book of stamps to go in the stamps slot. Judy going up the side was cut from Plantin Schoolbook and the flowers on the other side is George with stickles in the center. then I added an ink pink and tied a ribbon around the lid of the box. This was the first one that I ever did so it took me just a little longer but I plan on making many many more of these. Thanks again Marie, I think you helped me make the perfect gift....

The lady that owns the flower shop here in town is going above and beyond to help Todd and I out during the wedding. She won't let us rent anything, she is insisting that we just borrow it. We are borrowing an arbor, potted flowers, candelabras, she is making my bouquet- this she is allowing me to pay for but she insist that she give me a discount on it. She is a good friend of Todd's and said she just wants to do this for us. Well, I wanted to do something above and beyond the normal thank you card for her so this is what I came up with. I made this box and filled it full of some of the cards that I have made. The flower on top is layered several times to give it depth. I hope she will like it, plus when she sees what the cards look like maybe she will want to put some up in her flower shop. One more week until the wedding and I am almost finished with everything except the getting married..... that is the easy part.....

I wanted to share these with all of you. I just have to take a minute to tell all of you how special I think each and every one of you are. You are seem to be so genuinly happy for me and Todd. I love reading all of the comments that you leave on my postings. It really does my heart so good to know that there are people like all of you in this world. You all have the hearts of giants and I just want you to know how thankful I am to know each and every one of you.

If you remember the wedding card that I made that I am going to have everyone sign at the wedding, well these were suppose to be the verses for that card and I lost them on the computer. Well, after I finished the card with the new verses I found these. I love these verses so much that I really wanted to use them somewhere. So I decided to frame them and add some cricut cuts to them. This is the end result. I found the frames at the dollar tree, man I didn't know there was so much cool stuff in there. I got all kinds of plates, cups, napkins, decorations to hang up for the wedding. Such a cool place to buy wedding stuff..... Anyway, the frame has gold and red in it mixed in with the off white, it was like they were made for this. My dress is red, the invitations had gold in it and then the off white, it was fate.... I am going to put them on the table with all the food so everyone can read them as they walk by. 12 more days counting today.... I am so nervous and so excited all at the same time. I hope I can make it through the ceremony without balling my eyes out. I am meeting with the girl Monday that is going to sing. She wants me to hear what the songs sound like. I am so excited. I just got back from getting my trial run with my hair. I feel like a movie star tonight......Thank you all so much for looking and putting up with my wedding saga, you guys really are the greatest. I am so thankful I found this mb and have gotten to know all of you great ladies.... and gents that are out there....

A spider and it's web- Vicki's take

This is a Jeannie-Vicki challenge card. I needed something other than wedding stuff to do today. Although I have went and got the arbor and am in the process of putting the flowers on it tonight. I will post pictures of it as soon as I am finished. But back to this card. I wanted to do a fun card so I suggested to Jeannie that we do a halloween card and use the spider and webb from PDDU. Well when I started the rest of the card evolved and the poor ol spider was no longer the focal point. This is what is so cool about this card. I used glow in the dark stickles on the skeleton, moon and web. This is so cool, it really glows in the dark. I have been running all around this house trying to get my silly camera to take a picture of how cool this really is. It is the coolest thing to turn off the light and watch it glow. I want to do one of my wedding cards glow in the dark now.....lol....I am actually thinking about putting some stickles on me tonight when Todd and I go to bed, lol... bet he would get a laugh out of that....Reminds me of the glow in the dark silly putty that I had as a kid and was all the time sneaking in my younger brothers room at night, he would scream..... ah the good memories of torturing my brother....lol....almost as funny as him trying to get the marble out of a can of spray paint, now that is a funny story. His body was siluited on the car....way to funny.... anyway, I hope you enjoy this card, it was a lot of fun to make, wish you could see it glow.

OK, for those of you that don't know here is the story. My father passed away 5 years ago so I needed someone to walk me down the isle. I thought about my brother but then I said no, I want Todd's dad to walk me down the isle. He will be my dad soon. He only has two boys so he has never gotten to walk anyone down the isle before so I thought it would be great for him to walk me down the isle. My children, son is 11 and daughter will be 20 on the 18th of September, are going to give me away. When trying to figure out who I wanted to give me away they were really my only thoughts. Anyway, hopefully you have seen Brandons card ( the guitar-you rock card)and this one is for Susan. She is probably the biggest Alice in Wonderland fan ever! She loves it. She actually even has an original Alice in Wonderland book that was printed in 1865 written by Lewis Carol. She has everything you can think of Alice. It is her absolute favorite. She will so love this card, I am so excited that it came out the way it did. We used to have unbirthday party's all the time when she was little. When she sees the mad hatter on the outside she will be so excited but when she opens it up and see the chesser cat on the inside she will "flip". I can't wait to give her this card. She is going to be so excited. There is very little cricut on this card, just the mushroom from Tink on the inside. Card for my soon to be step son

This card is for my soon to be step son. Todd has 3 boys and I have made birthday cards for two of them recenty. Jake (this card) birthday was before I got my cricut so he didn't get a home made card. The other two boys had a birthday in July and August so they have recently gotten cards and I didn't want Jake to feel left out so I made this card for him. I wanted him to have an inspirational quote on his card, I hope I picked a good one.

Todd is a huge Gamecock fan, His boys live in SC so they are also huge Gamecock fans so I thought this card would be perfect for him. On the outside I have the gamecock and the words "Spur's Up?" For those of you who don't know Steve Spurier is the head football coach for SC so we (T0dd and I) got this idea off of their website. On the inside I posted this years football schedule and then I added another SC logo. On the other side I put his quote and also his name. I think he will really like this card and I hope you do too.

As you all know I am getting married on September 5th. My soon to be father in law is walking me down the isle but my two children ages 11 and 20 are giving me away. My daughters card is still being worked on, she will flip when she sees hers. This one if for my son. He is starting to learn to play the guitar so I thought this would suite him. I wanted each of their cards to personlize who they are. I put you rock on the front of his card because in my eyes he truly does "Rock". I was even able to string the guitar, now that was a lot of fun, not.... but anyway I thought the end result was cute.

Here are a couple more thank you cards for people that are doing things for our wedding. The first one is for the lady that is singing. I have picked Allison Krauses- You say it best when you say nothing at all and John Berry's- Your love amazes me. I am so excited to hear her version because she has the most beautiful voice.

The next is a thank you card for the lady that owns the florist. She knows my soon to be husband ( 2 weeks from today) whoo hooo...... I offered to rent an arbor, candelebra and some potted plants and she said no, she wanted to just let us use them. She said this was something that she wanted to do for us. She is also making my bouquet so I wanted to make her an extra special card. I wish you could see it in person because the picture doesn't show it's true colors. I have to tell you out of all the thank you's this is one of my favorites.

I didn't think I was going to get a card made today. I went and got my nails done right after work, I have really long nails and I was so afraid that I was going to get them broke before the wedding so I went and go the acrylic put over them. First time of ever doing that and I have to tell you, I am liking it.....Anyway, I really needed to make a thank you card for the photographer, who is a man. I was thinking all day what kind of card would be a good thank you card for a man. I kept thinking I need a camera. Well Jeannie was telling me that going places has a camera and I was thinking darn, I don't have going places. Well I started looking through all of my cartridges and look what I found. A camera on the potpourri basket cart. Yeah, I was so excited. I picked my "manly" paper out and went to town. this is what I came up with. I he will like it. The photographer is also a friend of mine so I wanted to make sure it wa alright. I hope he likes it and I hope you do too. The camera was cut on regular cut at 2" and shadow cut twice on 2" and then I cut a little piece of black to put behind the lense. Thank you is cut on regular and shadow at 2 1/4". Christmas cards I have been working on

I took a break from working on wedding stuff today to make a few Christmas cards. My SIL has asked for 50 Christmas cards for this year and then her Mom also wants some so I have been working on them on and off. The let is snow one I liked so much that I did 4 of them because it was real easy and I figured that it would be alright if some of the cards were the same. The Joy one I got from an idea from one of Jeannie's Christmas cards. Thank you Jeannie. The tree one and the Let is snow with a snowman on it I took a close up because I wanted you to see the snow. I love that powder glitter stuff. It really does look like snow. Anyway, I am back off to working on wedding stuff, I just wanted to show you some of the Christmas cards I have been working on. Wedding thank you cards

I have been so busy getting ready for the wedding. My daughter and I picked out what I think is the perfect dress. Todd and I both have been through a marriage before so we wanted to do everything our way so my dress is my no means a traditional wedding dress. I tried on a bunch but my daughter and the sales lady both kept saying the red one, the red one.... The sales lady even gave me a very nice compliment and said that not everyone could pull off red but I most definitely could. I even found killer red shoes to match. I was so excited. Well with the wedding dress shoping out of the way I thought I would start on some other things needed for the big day. So I have been working on my thank you wedding cards. September 5th is just around the corner so I want to get as much done now as possible. In the midst of working on these thank you cards I found the frames from Storybook. OMG, I am in love with these frames. I think they work really well for thank you cards. I was even able to use up some of my scraps on these cards because I wanted to keep them light enough to mail with one stamp so they really don't take much paper to make. All of the butterflies were the MS butterfly punch. I layered all of the butterflies 3 times each because I absolutely cannot make a flat card. lol... Anyway I hope you enjoy seeing them because I am sure there will be a lot more to make. The next thing I am going to work on is my hershey kisses with our names on them and little containers for them to go in. Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

This is a Jeannie/Vicki challenge card and I have to tell you, it whooped me. I don't know if it was the tree cut that threw me off or if it was the fact that I can't get my head out of the clouds over being excited about our wedding. But either way, I just couldn't make this card come together at all. I actually have another card laying on my craft table with an elf and the tree that is done but I didn't like it at all so I started over. I like this one a little better. I do really like the look of the snow. I embossed it with clear crystals and when it dried it makes all the snow look really wet. I also embossed the tree with crystal clear embossing powder which dried the glittery color. I inked the deer and hung a ribbon from his mouth to look like he was holding the ornaments for the elf. The tree is from SYI and it is cut at 4". On the inside I put Oh Christmas tree because I love that song. I can hear the elf singing it while he is decorating the tree now. But to be honest with you the only song I really want to hear right now is the wedding march song...... whoo hooo. Can you tell I am a just a little excited....

Wedding invitations and announcements Hurray!

Here are my wedding invitations and announcements. I made both because we are only inviting the immediate family to the wedding and then everyone else I will send an announcement to and let them know that we got married. The announcement doesn't have the date printed on it because it was the dry run that I made to make sure that this was how I wanted it. I mailed them today with all the date and information typed it too. The verse on the wedding invitations says "An answered prayer he is to me, my greatest joy she'll always be, and so this day we will pledge our love, in front of friends and God above" then I added a bunch of those little flowers and the leaves from plantin schoolbook. I added two gold bands to the ribbon. It is really hard to see but the outside edge of the cards are embossed. These were all mailed today so for the family and friends that don't know we are getting married yet will know so in about 3 days. I am so excited. I have my appointment next week to get my nails done, they are naturally long so if I don't get acrylic on them I know I will break them. I have my appointment set up to do the practice run of my hair, I have the photographer lined up, the songs picked and the singer to sing them... I have the poem picked that is going to be read. We go get our rings today. It is all coming together. I have the food picked for after the wedding. Lets just all keep our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.

Oh yeah, I also put the announcement in here too, I will send that to everyone that we didn't invite to the wedding so they will know that we are now married. YEAH! the announcement says "Love is just not about looking at each other in the eyes but looking together in the same direction" I have a few more things that I am working on I will post them as I make them.

September 5th will be here before I know it and as I am sure all of you can tell, I am getting really excited......

Wedding Card Book

Todd and I have finally set our wedding date. September 5, 2009. I am so excited. I went and looked at rings today and went and looked at a wedding chapel and decided that the perfect place for us to get married would be in our backyard. We truly have a gorgeous back yard. We have this old oak tree that is over 200 years old. It stretches over almost the entire back yard. I have the photographer lined up, I picked out the two songs the other day. I am excited about both of these songs because I think both of them suite us so much. I will post a picture of our wedding invitation too. Todd said he wanted something simple so I tried to make it as simple as possible but still elegant. It will be a very small wedding with just family and a few friends. This book will be setting out for all of our wedding guest to sign along the inside. I thought it would make a great keepsake. I saw the idea of making the book from Mandi Lou, aka bunny lover. Thank you for the inspiration Mandi Lou. I took a picture of the inside verse but I am not sure how clear in came out. The first page says "There are three things that we will endure- Faith, Hope and Love, and the greatest is love." the second page says "Two hands, two hearts, one love forever! then it says "Better than I was, more than I am and all of this happened by taking your hand." and the third page says "From this day forward by God's grace and goodness, I give you my hand and my life to share." Then I wrote both of our names at the bottom. I didn't want all the folds to show on the edge of the book so I took another piece of paper and made a binding for the book and the adhered another full sheet to the front and back of the book for the cover. Alot of time and hours went in to making this but I wanted it to be special. I truly wish you could see it in person because I really don't believe that the pictures does it justice. Christmas Cards

We went out of town this weekend to the soon to be inlaws. While there visiting with my soon to be sister in law she was telling me that the company she works for does Christmas cards each year and that she is in charge of them. She asked me if I would be interested in doing them. I told her yeah, what would they pay me. Thinking it would be so little that it wouldn't be worth my time. Well she said that last year they paid $2.50 a card. Ok, normally if I sell a card I sell it for twice that so I am just listening at this point. Then she tells me how many. 1000 cards. My eyes and ears are wide open at this point. She said they had to be pretty simple and they couldn't say anything about Merry Christmas, which I think is bull but that is the way a lot of companies operate now. Anyway, I am thinking 1000 cards at $2.50 a pop, that is $2500.00. I am a little excited but nervous, could I make this many cards. So I came home and sat down and came up with what I call a simple card. One Cricut cut,no layering...that nearly killed me.. They have to be light enough to mail with one stamp. Well, I have exactly two Christmas stamps, one that says Happy Holidays and the other is the inside verse. Instead of just stamping on the outside verse, I embossed it in gold. I thought that made it look much more professional. Anyway, here are four cards that I emailed her today. I think the deer and the ornament are my favorites. EAch card took me about 5-10 a piece to make. With them only taking this long to make if I get the order, I should have no problem making that many by Christmas. So please keep your fingers crossed for me that I can get this order. With my wedding coming up in a few weeks I sure could use the extra money. Look at them and let me know if you think they look good enough for a company to send out as their cards. I would have them embossed with their company name on the inside too. Please let me know what you think.

This is a Jeannie/Vicki Challenge card. I needed a break from wedding stuff today so I said something to Jeannie about we need to do a card and she wanted to make one too. I only had flowers and rings on my mind so I told Jeannie I couldn't come up with something to do so she took on the task of finding us our next cut. She picked one of the trees from Stretch Your Imagination. As soon as I looked at the cart I knew exactly what tree I was going to use. I have been seeing all the halloween and fall cards that all of you are posting and that inspired me. I have know from day one of getting Pooh and Friends that I wanted to use those pumpkins so it all worked out just fine. I am really proud of this card. I love the paper, this is the new fall pack of paper from DCWV called Indian Summer. I absolutely love it. When I saw it I knew those orange colors would make perfect pumpkins. SYI- tree cut at 3 1/2" twice and layered- the I cut out the leaves and just glued them wherever I thought needed a leaf

PDDU- cat cut in black- because halloween cats need to be black- I used my white gel pen for his face. The cat is cut at 3". The moon is also PDDU and is cut 3 times on flip and layered with glue dots. The bats are cut at 1 1/2" Pumkin on the inside is cut at 3"

Pooh and Friends. The pumpkins are cut at 2 3/4" once in green and three times with the layers. I alternated what color paper I was going to use for the top of the pumkins so all three would be different.

Wild Card- the word Boo on the front of the card is cut at 3" and the Happy Halloween on the inside is cut at 5".

The flower was cut at 2 1/2" and I used gold stickles on the ends. The butterflies were also from SB and I cut them at 1"and cut each of them twice and layered them. I also used gold stickles in the centers of the butterflies. The frame is from SB and is cut at 3". The my friend is from BB and is cut at 3". The scallop is from Plantin Schoolbook and is cut at 1/2". I used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder for the frame and then I used the smaller flowers from one of the cuttlebug accessory sets. Pooh and friends - Vicki's take

Yea!, Jeannie and I got our challenge in this week. While we were trying to figure out what we were going to do for our challenge this week Jeannie looked on her calendar and noticed that August was National Pooh friends month. So of course we decided to do a pooh card. I have to tell you guys I struggled with this card. I knew right from the start what I wanted to do on the inside of the card. I knew I had to use this Winnie the Pooh quote....It was a must. Now all I had to do was build a card around a quote. That should be easy enough....wrong....I couldn't figure it out at all until last night. I sat down at my craft table and looked at the Pooh quote and the card just came to me. I hope you like the end result. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Pooh and Friends- Pooh cut out at 3" twice in black on shadow and once on regular cut in the pooh color. I used glue dots to pop him off the card. The butterfly is also from Pooh cut at 1" twice. I glued the butterfly together just in the center so it would look like it was flying. The catepillar was cut at 3/4". I had to use a catepillar so it would relate to the butterfly.

Beyond Birthdays- Hello Friend cut at 2"

Plantin Schoolbook- scallop along the edge cut at 1" and I trimmed off one hump.

Zooballoo- grass cut at 2" on regular cut for the back of the grass and then on shift lowercase for the shorter grass.

The flowers are a punch and I added brown stickles to the center of the flowers and inked the whole card.

Cuttlebug challenge #42

The cuttlebug challenge this week was to locate 3 blinkies and email their locations to Nilda and then to post a card using the Mr Linky box. The card was to use our favorite cuttlebug folder. I would have to say that my favorite cuttlebug folder would be ther one that I am using at that time. This particular card uses the divine swirls folder and the swiss dots folder. I guess I would have to say these two are really my favs since I use them the most. I used divine swirls with the scalloped circles cut from MM at 3",2 3/4 " , 2 1/2", and 2 1/4". I also used the divine swirls for the burgundy background paper and also for my corner pieces which are jasmine cut at 5". I used the swiss dots folder for the present which was cut from celebrations at 2 1/2". This was the first time that I had cut anything from the Celebrations cart. The flowers in the center of the jasmine corners are a Martha Stewart punch and then I added a gold glitter stickle to the center of the flowers. I love the paper I used. I used the gold metallic paper and then the background paper is from the Once upon a time stack. That stack has so many pretty papers. This will be a birthday card for my SIL, I took my sharpi pen and wrote her name on the gift box tag. I am pleased with how it turned out and I hope she will like it too. Soccer birthday card

My step son will be 10 on his birthday. He loves playing soccer. So I knew exactly what cart I needed to make his birthday card. I say this cart was my steal cart because I won it off of ebay for $11 and I think that is a "steal". I wish I could win LAB or LL for that. lol....
I am absolutely falling in love with vellum. I think the inside is my favorite part of the card because of the vellum. I love how you can see the soccer shoe behind of the wording.
OK, here are the directions:
Soccer cart- goal net cut at 2 1/2 " regular and shadow, the player is cut at 3 1/4"- reg and shadow. One the inside of the card, the shoe is cut out at 1 1/2" reg and shadow. the whistle is cut at 3/4" and the trophy at 1 1/2". I also took my sharpi and wrote Nick on the trophy.
Base Camp for the font cut at 1" on both reg cut and blackout cut
Jasmine for the corners on the inside of the card cut at 4" and 5".

My Hero Ribbon card Vicki's take

This is a Jeannie/Vicki challenge card. Jeannie and I wanted to do something really special this time. She came up with the Hero ribbon idea. We were either going to do a yellow ribbon or a pink ribbon. I chose the pink ribbon because it is a little closer home to me. My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and thank the good Lord above she is cancer free. If I think of anyone as being a hero in fighting this terrible disease I think it is her. She battled it very hard and very courageously and never not once gave up. The hope on the front of the card is for all the hope that she had, the faith is for the faith that she never lost and gave up, the miracle is her and that she is living proof that it can be beat, and the inspire is for all the inspiration that she gives everyone around her everyday. I put a lot of heart into this card. I actually made two just alike. One to keep for another day and one to send to her. I can't explain the feeling I had while making this card. It was a very emotional card to make. I guess I could really feel what each word stood for. On the inside of the card I put anothe pink ribbon on the card first. Then I printed my sentiment on vellum and layed it over top of the ribbon. I wasn't for sure it was going to work out, needless to say I was so happy that it did. This actually is an A-7 card because I couldn't make it work right being an A-4 card. Here are the directions and thank you so much for looking and leaving a comment, they mean so much to me.

George- pink ribbon - this is actually the & sign cut at 3" and using the shadow feature

the ribbon on the inside of the card is cut at 5" shadow feature- stickled around the edge of the ribbon

Faith- Home Accents- cut at 1" on regular and shadow cut

Inspire- Home Accents- cut at 1" on regular and shadow cut

corners are Jasmine and are cut at 3 1/2", 4" and 4 1/2"- added stickles

scalloped circles are from Mini Monograms and are cut at 3", 3 1/4" and 3 1/2", I added stickles to the scalloped circles to give it a little glitz.

Yeah! Jeannie and I found time to do another challenge. I have so much fun with these challenges.It really is hard to make a card without her. Well, Jeannie has been really busy this week with all the birthdays and getting Madison moved and I have been really busy making all these thank you cards but we still wanted to get at least one card challenge in this week. It really was nice to make a card other than a thank you card. When we were trying to decide what our challenge would be, I told Jeannie that I loved the dragon fly from home decor and she came up with the "Good Luck" sentiment since that is a sign of the dragonfly. I was excited about it because I needed to make a good luck card so it worked great for me. This card is for one of the ladies that I work for. The assistant principal of the elementary school is leaving and going to another school, she said that she wanted something really special on the inside because this lady has been great with her kids and that she would be greatly missed. this is what I came up with. I have to tell you, I struggled really hard with this card, It actually started out a different color, different papers, different idea...I couldn't get it to come together the way I wanted to so I left and came back and had a whole knew idea to try to work with. I like how this one came out better. It definitely is not how I pictured it in my head. I hope you like it and please leave me a comment, they mean so much!

Walk in my garden- daisy cut at 1"- each flower is 4 cuts, I took my hole puncher and put a hole in the center and hooked them together with brads. I love how they came out. this could be my favorite flower now.

Angel thank you cards

I needed to make 4 angel thank you cards for Teresa. She said that her and her husband had felt as if 4 people truly had been their angels in all of this. She wanted them just alike so this is what I came up with. I used the angel from Christmas Noel. I cut her at 3 1/4" once on regular cut and twice on blackout. I also cut her wing once on regular cut in purple and twice on blackout cut in the pearlized white paper. I hope you can see from the last picture that her wings actually bend forwards like she is flying. I also had the neatest paper for the background. the paper directly behind of the angel is clouds and one of the cards you can actually see a little bit of the ocean behind her. The very back ground paper has words all the way across it that refers to faith and living life to the fullest, I thought it worked perfect. I also used my Jasmine cart for the corners, I love those corners, I think they really can add to a card. I used lots and lots of pop glue dots and of course I stickled her wings and bottom of her dress. The inside says "You truly were a blessing in disguise, Thank you for being my angel. I hope the recipients like them as much as I enjoyed making them. Tomorrow I have to make 5 more church cards and then I think I am finished with all the thank you cards she needed. This is another thank you card for Teresa, the lady that I work with whose husband was in a very bad accident. She asked me to make several thank you cards for Churches also. Living in a small community is just amazing. I believe all of the churches have done something for this family. It is just amazing how everyone comes together when someone is in need. Definitely shows the power of what God can do. I didn't want this card to be over fancy because I didn't want anything to over power the verse inside. Here is yet another thank you card that I have done for my friend. I still have a lot of thank you cards to make but this weekend I promise to post something other than a thank you card. With this one I used the hearts from George and layered them with pop glue dots. I also used stickles around the edge of the hearts. I was in a hurry to take my picture of this one so I used the freezer method for drying my stickles faster. It really does work. I used SYI for the tags behind of my setiment which is computer generated. The inside verse came from my own little mind. I also added brads to the setiment and if you look close enough you will see that I added a stickle dot to the center of each brad. Here is another thank you card. This one I used the hearts from George using the shift function. I cut them at 3". The Thank You is from Beyond Birthdays and is cut at 2 1/2". I inked around the whole card with green ink. I am starting to like this inking method. I hope it looks alright. I decided to leave this one blank so she could hand write her own thank you. Any yet here is another thank you card. My friend asked for a bunch of thank you cards and a bunch is what she is going to get. For this one I used the flower form Home Decor, I used clear and red stickles and lots and lots of pop dots. The flower is cut at 4" and the leaves are from plantin schoolbook and are cut at 2 1/2". Many thanks is from wild card and is cut at 5". Jeannie you will be so proud of me, I inked the entire card. I was so nervous about doing that but I figured the worse would happen is that I would have to throw it away. Kinda liked how it turned out. I hope you like it too. Jeannie and I just couldn't wait to do another card so here we are. The husband of a lady that I work with was in a really bad accident. He was on a garden tractor going across a small bridge and the bridge broke and the tractor overturned on him. He has went through numerous surgeries and is just really lucky to be alive. Well, we live in a very small town and everyone knows him and has been great in pitching in and doing things for them and helping them financially, they have 3 small children, and it is so hard for the mom to do everything. It is amazing how a small community comes together when there is a need. Well, she came to me yesterday and asked if I could make her some thank you cards for her to send to everyone that has helped. I was honored that she would want my cards to give to everyone. So I am making a bunch of thank you cards for her. I hope she likes them and I hope everyone that receives them likes them too. For the challenge Jeannie picked the flower from George (one of my favorite flowers) and we used the saying thanks for going above and beyond. I hope you like it. I can't wait to see Jeannies. Believe it or not, I did 90% of the card while talking to Jeannie on the phone.

I think Jeannie had thought I had lost my mind because I told her I had to wait a few minutes before I could take my picture because my card was in the freezer, yes the freezer. That is the fastest way to dry stickles.... I used the stickles on the ends of the flower petals. I am still laughing because she sent me a pm and it said freezer?????? do tell. I know she thought I had sniffed too much glue .

This is also a Jeannie/Vicki challenge. I think we both were just itching to do another challenge. Neither one of us could come up with a good cut so Jeannie handed the book the Madison and told her to pick a cut. She picked the lady bug and also had one other request. We had to use glitter. I can't believe we even got this card in last week. Jeannie was so busy planning her daughters wedding and getting everything just so. I was so surprised when she said "let's do a challenge today". I hope it was a good break for her because I am sure she was busy busy busy. I cut the lady bugs were cut at 1 3/4" and 2 1/4". The scalloped circles were from mini monograms and the leaves were from plantin school book. The font is base camp. I felt like I had glitter everywhere after putting glitter on the lady bugs and on the tips of the leaves. It was a lot of fun as are all the card challenges with Jeannie. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we enjoy making them. Thanks so much!

Birthday Cupcake

This is also a Jeannie/Vicki card challenge, little did Jeannie know that this was also her birthday card from me. I hope she was surprised when she got it in the mail. Jeannie actually picked the cupcake cut. We had both just gotten the new Home Decor carts and we were just dying to make something with it so the cupcake was first. I knew right away what paper I wanted to use, I was really pleased that I was able to make the cupcake match the paper. I cut the cupcake at 3" and cut out 4 different layers. I knew this card was going to Jeannie so I really wanted to make it Pop! I used lots and lots and lots of glue dots and stickles. It actually turned out to be one of my favorite cards after it was said and done. I hope you enjoy it and much as I enjoyed making it.

Jeannie and I are having way too much fun doing these challenges. I get so excited each and every time that we do one. I think I could do one every day. I had several cards to make for a lady that I know that is in what is called the Pink Ladies, this is like the red hat society only the ladies are "too young" to wear read. Anyway, she wanted some "pink chics" because that is what they refer to themselves as. Jeannie thought it would be fun to make it a challenge so we both could see how we both interpreted the choice. We knew what bird we was going to use and we knew we were going to use the "let's chick chat over coffee" but that was it. It was so wild because we thought so much alike on this one and we both decided to put our "chicks" over the coffee. My coffee was actually on the paper that I chose and her coffee was in a cup that she put on the front of her card. We both had a ball doing this one. I hope you enjoy it as much. the bird is from Home Decor and the circles are from mini monograms.

Turtle Friends

This is yet another challenge with Jeannie, I just absolutely love these challenges. This we decided to use the turtle from animal kingdom. I think Jeannie thought I had lost my mind when I suggested the turtle.

I used the Nana's baby paper pack which I think is my all time favorite paper. I also used stickles all over my turtles shell and even painted her toe nails. I added ribbon to the corners and added dear friends on the ribbon. I added 4 flower brads to the corners of the paper. The turtle was cut at 3" and layered. I used lots and lots of glue dots to make it 3-D. I hope you like it.

This is also a Jeannie/Vicki Challenge card. She needed to do a birthday card for Madison so we both decided to make it a challenge card. I had a lot of fun with this card. I love lady bugs as long as they are on cards and outside, not inside.... but that would be a whole different story.

The lady bug is from walk in my garden and the leaves are from Plantin schoolbook, I think as far as leaves go they are some of my favorite to use. With the lady bug on the inside of the card I actually cut his head off and placed it in a different place to make it appear like he was looking behind him. I drew the faces on by hand and added ribbon to the corners and then added brads on top of the ribbon. Jeannie and I actually have done two lady bug card challenges, this one and then we also did the lady bug from home decor. That was a lot of fun too. I hope you enjoy this one. I know it was a lot of fun to make. I think the funnest thing about these challenges that Jeannie and I do is the fact that we both post at the same time. It is like we are two little kids waiting for Santa... I can't wait to see her card and she can't wait to see mine. It truly is a blast....

This is another Jeannie/Vicki challenge card. I believe this turned out to be one of my favorite cards that I have done to date. I just love the hefalumps and woozles stories with Pooh anyway. Jeannie and I decided to make a card using Lumpy the hefalump from Pooh and Friends. We also decided to use a love you theme. I used the I love you more and Jeannie used the I'll love you forever. I came up with my I love you more because when my son was small he used to tell me I love you and I would say I love you more and he would say, no I love you more... and so on. I thought it worked great with this card.

Lumpy was cute out at 3" several times and layered. I also cut the butterfly out from Pooh and friends and put it on lumpy's trunk. The grass is Zooballoo and the flowers are George. I love the flowers from George especially when they are layered so many times. The flowers on the inside of the card are also pooh and friends. I almost forgot the clouds are also from Pooh and Friends.

This was the second challenge that Jeannie and I did and I believe it is one of my all time favorite cards. For this card we used the flowers from Pooh. I cut them at 3" and layered them 3 times each. I used the Nanna's Baby girl paper too. I used lots and lots of glue dots too. I honestly don't think I can make a flat card anymore. The hello birthday is from beyond birthday cut out at 2" and the butterflies are from indie art. I cut them out in sizes of 1 1/4", 1",3/4" and 1/2" and layered them. I hope you enjoy looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Rooster card

This is the start of mine and Jeannie's card challenges. I wanted to do the rooster for something and Jeannie came up with the idea to use Goodmorning Sunshine. It just evolved from there. In no time we had decided that we were both going to make a card using the rooster and using the phrase Good morning Sunshine. We had so much fun that we decided to do it again and again. I love doing these challenges with Jeannie because I truly believe she makes me a better card maker.

baseball birthday card

One of my soon to be step sons had a birthday the same day as mine. I wanted to make him a special card because he (and his brothers) are so very special to me. He loves sports of all kinds so I knew I wanted to make him a sports card. I guess I picked baseball because that is a summer sport. For this card I used the baseball cart. I cut out the person at 3" on regular cut and then cut out the filler in tan, (white just doesn't look very good on the baseball cuts, at least I don't think so). Anyway, the field is cut out at 3 " as well and the baseball is cut out at 1". I used base camp for the font and put his name along the edge of the field. I cut the baseball out 2 times and used extra pop glue dots to make to ball appear to be coming out of the card. On the inside I cut the glove out at 2". The sentiment was computer generated. I hope he enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it for him. I know there was a lot of love put into this card....

Here are a few more baby cards that I have made. The first one is the giraffe from New addition. I cut is at 2 3/4", Little one is also from New addition cut at 2" and then I added ribbon.

The purple elephant is also from New addition. I cut it at 3" and the butterfly is from Pooh and Friends cut at 3/4". I added ribbon to the corners and cut the george flowers out and layered them several times and put them on the ribbon. I added flat diamond beads to the ribbons. I drew the face on by hand.

The last one uses the giraffe from Animal Kingdom. I cut it at 3" and the branch is from Zooballoo. I inked the leaves and the sentiment is computer generated. I added ribbon to the corners of this one as well. I hope you enjoy them.

The cow did what!

Ok, when I made this card I was so afraid that no one would read it the way I was reading it in my head. I thought is was cute and funny all at the same time. I wanted to do a funny card with a funny spin. I'm not sure where I came up with the cow jumped over the moon but I did and I am so glad that I did. I think this is one of my favorite cards to date. I hope you enjoy it too.

The cow is from PDDU and the moon is from there too. I cut the cow at 3" and the moon I think is cut at 1 3/4". The fence is also from PDDU and it is cut at 2". the sentiment is computer generated. I layered the cow three times and then I also cut it out in dark brown for the feet and face. I had to cut off the pieces that I wanted to layer with. I hope that makes sense. I hope you get a big laugh out of it, I sure did while I was making it. The front of the card says "the cow did what?" and the inside says "Holy Cow, who comes up with these things anyway" "Hope you havce a mootiful day"

Teacher Thank you cards

One of the ladies that I work with asked me if I could make her 4 Thank you cards. 3 for teachers and one for the principal. I wanted all of them to be different and this is what I came up with.

The owl is from paper doll dressup and is cut at 3" and the Thanks is from George

The #1 teacher apple is from DoodleCharms and is cut at 3" and the font is from Plantin Schoolbook.

The chalkboard is from Pooh and Friends, the font is Plantin Schoolbook and the apple is doodlecharms. The lady bugs are walk in my garden and the catepillar is from stretch your imagination.

The bushel of apples is from Pooh and friends and the thank you is from beyond birthdays. I used lots and lots of pop glue dots and lots of layers on all of these cards.

Father Day Cards

Here are a few fathers day cards that I did. The owl is from Animal Kingdom cut at 2 1/2" and the leaves are from Plantin Schoolbook cut at 1 1/4". One the red one Iused the cuttlebug birds folder and chalked the birds and the font is George, On the Happy Fathers day one I used Wild Card for the saying and the dragon fly is layered and it was done using doodlecharms( which is one of my favorite carts)

Baby Cards

Here are two really quick baby cards I made using New Arrival. The strollers were cut at 3" and the the saying was cut at 2". I added a few diamond flat beads to the girls card because a girl needs her "bling" early in life.

Who needs a hug

I just love this bear from Christmas Noel. For this one I cut the bear out three times. Once on shadow and once in light brown and then I cut him out again in dark brown for the layers. I figured this would make a great card for someone that you just wanted to say hello to or for someone that was feeling a little down in the dumps. On the inside of the card I put it's here when you need it. The font is George.

It's Your day

I think this is one of my favorite birthday cards to date. I made it a while back but I still really like it. For this one I used the Wild Cart It's Your Day saying and the Indie Art butterflies. I used metallic paper and also added flat diamond beads at the end.

wedding card

I didn't have any particular reason to make this card I just wanted to see how I could do with the wedding cake from Wild card. I also used George for the flowers and Indie Art for the butterflies.

welcome to your new school cards

I was asked by a dear friend that I work with to make her two cards for her boys that are both going into new schools this year. One is going into intermediate school and the other will be going into high school.

The It's time card is for the intermediate school- For it I used My community for the clock. I used a brad to adhere the clocks hands so they actually move. I used My world for the old and new school. I layered them several times for added dimenion.

For the high school card I used Animal Kingdom for the bear face and My world for the new school. For the inside I used the basketball cart.

Graduation cards

Here are some cards I made for graduation cards. I used PDDU for the kids. They are cut at 3", I used George for the font cut at 1" and I used Mickey and friends for the balloons. These were really popular cards at Graduation time. I think I ended up making of 15 all together. I didn't take pictures of all of them.

This is the first card I ever posted. I used Beyond Birthdays for the love and Home Accents for the birds. I stickled around the edges of the birds. I used the cuttlebugs divine swirls folder also. I added pink ribbon and flat diamond beads. I think the love was cut out at 1 1/2" and the birds at 2" althought I wouldn't swear to as I made this card 3 months ago so I am just not sure. I am sure of the carts that were used.
